| It was straight from Horice
to the NW200, not a brilliant decision
especially with a new bike in tow and
some of the team equipment still in transit
from the Czech Republic.
Tuesday was frantic as it became clear
there was a problem with the Strangford
Holiday Park/Leisure Services Suzuki which
was running too cool and lean and would
most likely seize if run so the team chased
the necessary lead to get it sorted, which
did not happen until Thursday. Davy also
spent a lot of time sourcing the parts
requied for the BMW to try and have it
ready for Thursday Practice. Practice
itself was on Tuesday was uneventful with
tricky condtions in Supersport Practice
meaning that Davy did a few solid laps
to qualify on the CSC Branson Yamaha and
only a couple of laps to make sure the
heating problem was sorted on the Strangford
Holiday Park/Leisure Services Suzuki.

| Thursday was a little more relaxed
as the parts for the BMW did not all arrive
so it would be a case of getting it ready
for Saturday and hope that the organisers
would let hime start from the back of
the grid. On the Strangford Holiday Park/Leisure
Services Suzuki and CSC Branson Yamaha
Davy qualified comfortably in the B Group
for both Superbike and Supersport Classes
and hoped for a change in the weather
forecast so that he could get more miles
on track before heading to the TT.
Friday was spent getting the BMW ready
and the team worked hard for nine hours
to have it ready to go on saturday, organisers
permitting.
Race day was pretty much a non-event,
the CSC Branson R6 Yamaha was first to
the line and sfter doing the two sighting
laps Davy lined up and was ready to go.
Unfortunately a vibration appeared in
the bike going down in to Metropole and
Davy retired at Church. It turned out
to be the wet rear had gone off so it
was the right decision. (the top teams
were changing to a new wet after the two
sighting laps) Conditions deteriotated
before the fiorst Superbike race so Davy
decided to sit it out and hope that conditions
improved later in the day.
As we all know now that did not happen,
conditions got worse, oil was thrown down
and there was no more racing to bring
to an abrupt end a difficult week.

| Speaking afterwards Davy commented, "What
a disaster for everyone, for once the forecasters
got it right and conditions were not good.
It was a tough week with trying to sort
the BMW out and the problem with the Suzuki
running too lean, my head was pickled at
times and getting the two bikes sorted was
the highlight of the week. Its now a case
of putting this week behind us and moving
on to the TT and hopefully decent weather
and some good results. My thanks to everyone
this week who helped in anyway, i am just
sorry we did not get to race." |
