| Davy along with Trudy and
the DM#71RRSC 250cc Honda headed to the
Czech Republic for his debut at the popular
Horice Road Races with anticiptaion and
a little trepidation of going in to the
unknown. The weather was good on arrival
and the circuit if not some of the safety
precautions excited Davy on first viewing. |

| The first practice got underway on
Saturday and was a bit of a struggle as
Davy was finding it difficult to work
out were he was going and found himself
back in thirteenth place after the opening
session. For the second session he got
more dialled in to the circuit and eventually
qualified in third place on the grid for
Sunday's race.
The weather was changeable on Sunday
so it was intermediate tyres for the start
of the race and it was a good start as
Davy led from the off and was looking
good for a race win until the race was
red flagged for an incident. On the restart
it was slick tyres as the road had dried
out, it was not as good a start and Davy
found himself in second place behind the
eventual winner who was riding really
hard so Davy kept his distance and at
the chequered flag he was 0.9 seconds
back to finish second.
Speaking on his return to Northern Ireland,
"It was an enjoyable weekend,
and on the whole both Trudy and myself
enjoyed the experience although there
was a bit too much partying for our liking
at a race meeting. The circuit itself
was very good as it had a bit of everything,
but the safety set-up was a bit worrying
so i did not push too hard. I don't know
if i would go back in the future as it
was expensive enough for just one race
outing, but it is another thing i can
cross off as done." |
