At the Davy Morgan
#71 Supporters Club Dinner Dance Davy
Morgan announced that he was to have the
continued support of Trevor Matthewson
- Strangford Holiday Park and Steve &
Chris Caffyn - CSC Racing. Its a welcome
announcement in these difficult times
as Davy can now move forward with his
plans for 2012.
Speaking about next season an optimistic
Davy commented; "The 2011 Road
Racing Season has come to an end and we
take on-board all that we have learned
and look forward to 2012 with anticipation,
excitement and optimism with its new set
of challenges and targets. 2011 was a
frustrating season for me at times, especially
at the International events which were
affected badly by poor weather and machinery
issues. As a top road racer you tend to
look at these events closer than any others
and think that because they did not go
well then the season did not go well.
That is certainly not the case in 2011
as I had my biggest ever haul of podiums
and top ten finishes across Ireland, UK
and Europe, with the highlight probably
being Skerries in July were I had four
top six finishes from four starts including
three podiums.
I am really looking forward to racing
on the roads across Ireland and the UK
in 2012 and have a personal optimism that
comes from the knowledge that I have another
good season behind me, good bikes under
me and also the fact that I will be working
with pretty much the same team for a fourth
successive year further enhances that
optimism. 2012 cannot come quickly enough
and over the winter I intend to work hard
to raise the required budget and trade
support to run the team competitively
and train hard to get myself in the best
physical shape possible. This finance,
support and conditioning are all major
requirements alongside with my riding
ability to be on the leader-boards in
this highly competitive and demanding
sport….I certainly will be doing
everything within my power to ensure I
won’t come up short in any of them!"

In 2012 I am pleased that i will
again be riding under the banner of CSC
/ Strangford Holiday Park Racing and wish
to thank both Steve (Caffyn) and Trevor
(Matthewson) for their continued support
and the use of their excellent machinery.
At this moment the plans for 2012 have
already begun and we will be updating
and refreshing the CSC Supersport R6 Yamaha,
Strangford Holiday Park Superbike GSXR1000cc
Suzuki & my own 1000cc Superstock
BMW and 250cc Honda. I would also like
to get involved in the Supertwin class
at some stage, to allow me to compete
in this new, exciting and expanding class
at National and International Level.
We are actively looking for title
sponsors to join the team for both the
250cc Honda which will be run at most
Irish & UK National Road Races and
the 1000cc BMW that will be run at the
International Road Races and we really
do need other personal sponsors to join
the team and help with the general costs
of running a professional Road Race Team
at the sharp end of the grid, including:
fuel, tyres, oil, race parts, entry fees,
transport costs, etc. We will be taking
part in as many National & International
Road races across Ireland, Isle of Man
and UK that the finances raised will allow.
My sincere thanks go out to all my
loyal sponsors and friends who kept we
on track in 2011 and look forward to adding
some sponsors and friends for 2012 who
would become part of a team in the most
exhilarating sport on the planet in what
potentially could be another successful
season for Davy Morgan Racing. Although
no one can guarantee success in this sport
anyone who is already involved or looking
to get involved can be assured that there
will be no lack of effort, commitment
and professionalism from myself or any
member of the team in achieving success.

For 2012 the “Davy Morgan
#71 Road Racing Supporters Club”
will continue their support, this club
is made up and run by my friends and supporters
with the sole purpose of providing me
with some much needed financial support
towards my racing costs, and they are
always looking for new members. The DM#71RRSC
and myself will also continue in to a
fourth year of support for “Action
Cancer” and hope to add to the £9000
we have already raised as we continue
to sell our Pink Helmet Pin Badges, including
a new one for 2012.
Finally to my loyal supporters, I
can only assure you all that it is my
determined intention and desire to give
you plenty to cheer and enjoy in 2012…
