Things went from bad to
worse for Davy Morgan at the Southern
100 on Thursday. The team went to the
Isle of Man hoping to continue the run
of good form that has saw Davy right on
the pace and running right at the front
at Irish National Road Races, but luck
completely deserted them on the Isle of
Man as Davy had just one finish and that
was with a broken machine.
Hoping for better luck on the final day
of the meeting after a disappointing couple
of days it started badly when an incorrect
tyre choice of full wets on a rapidly
drying circuit on the CSC Branson R6 Yamaha
circuit resulted in retirement on the
opening lap.
The DM#71RCSC 250cc Honda was going well
early on with Davy holding a comfortable
third place in the race until Castletown
Corner on the last lap, when the bike
siezed and robbed him of a podium as he
toured across the line to finish in fifth
place.

Davy's final outing was
on the Strangford Holiday Park Suzuki
and again things were going well early
on as he made a blistering start and had
got himself in to fourth place behind
Farquhar, M.Dunlop and Donald. Just before
the red flags came out Davy toured past
the start and finish on lap five thumping
the tank as the big lady had let him down
for the first time in 2010 and another
Southern 100 DNF.
A depressed Davy speaking afterwards,
"What a terrible end to an awful
week, nothing has gone for us this week
and with us only getting home at lunchtime
tomorrow Kells is looking extremely doubtful
for us at the moment. We only have one
working bike as the 250 needs a rebuild
due to the seizure and the gearbox is
gone in the Suzuki as i had lost fifth
and sixth gears before i retired."
