There was frustration and
anger on wednesday at the Southern 100
with machine and beauracracy problems
spoiling a night that started promisingly.
First for davy was the Superbike Race
and he got a flying start on the Strangford
Holiday Park Suzuki and was running fourth
when the hestitation that had first raised
its head in practice at Walderstown returned
and he felt it was safer to retire than
risk someone running in to the back of
him.
The organisers would not let him start
the 250cc Race as he had not qualified,
so he had to do a lap at the back of the
race on the DM#71RRSC Honda to qualify
for thursdays race.
It was the same story on the CSC Branson
R6, as the Supersport race was held over
from Tuesday, they said Davy had not qualified,
even though he had done some practice
laps on Tuesday and he had missed Monday
as the ferry he got over did not get to
the circuit in time for practice. |

| Davy commented later, "To
say i am not amused is an under statement,
it has been a complete waste of time and
none of it my doing, there was potentially
some good results up for grabs tonite and
prize money that keeps us on track. They
would not let me start the 250 and 600 races
as they said i had not qualified even though
i had done laps on the R6 and Superbike
and they new i missed all but one session
on Monday due to scheduling of the ferry's.
To make matters worse we had just packed
everything in the van when they came and
told us we could go out in the Supersport
Race, needless to say it was too late and
just rubbed salt in the wounds. The one
good thing to come out of the disaster is
the fact that we have hopefully sorted the
issue with the Suzuki so thanks to the "TAS"
Guys for their time and help. It looks like
a bad Southern for me, but maybe things
will pick up tomorrow." |
