The last night of practice for the
2010 TT and a final chance to get bikes
set-up for the racing ahead. Davy had
a busy night with a lap on each of the
three bikes and hopefully times that would
give hime confidence ahead of the races
starting with the TT Superbike on Saturday.
It was out on the CSC Branson R6 Yamaha
first and it was his fastest run of the
week on it at 117.787mph in 19 min 13.17
sec and an improvement of 23 seconds over
the week. He would have liked to have
gone quicker, but there was a lot of traffic
on the opening lap of the night, but Davy
is still hopeful that come race day he
will be able to up his pace.
There were more changes made to the CSC
Branson R1 Superstock Yamaha after the
succesful lap on thursday to see it could
be made even more competitive, but it
did not work entirely as the lap time
was slightly slower at 119.924mph. There
will have to be more adjustments and hopefully
time allowed he will get a practice lap
to test these out after the sidecar race
on Saturday.
Davys Final practice lap was to be on
the Strangford Holiday Park Suzuki and
it was to be well worth the wait as he
completed the lap in his fastest time
of the week in 18 min 23.79 sec @ a brilliant
123.056mph, thats 48 seconds quicker than
his first lap of the week and only 6 seconds
short of his fastest ever lap aroond the
mountain circuit. A solid lap and a real
confidence boost ahead of tomorrows TT
Superbike Race as Davy always goes a lot
quicker in the race than he does in practice.
Roll on Tomorrow and more good weather.
A slightly surprised Davy speaking afterwards,
"I did'nt think it was that quick
as i was held up by slower riders on the
run down the mountain so to get near my
fastest ever time is brilliant, with that
time i just need to knock a minute off
to be in the hunt. I am a bit dissappointed
with the R1 we decided to go another way
with it so with the lap time being slower
it did not work so we will have to change
it a bit more. The R6 is going well, but
like the others the gearing is just not
perfect so we will make a slight change
and go from there. Its time to race now,
which i can't wait for, so i need to concentrate
on stringing all my quick sectors together
on every lap and move my times up and
get some good finishes."
PS: Davy did his good deed for the week
on Wednesday night , despite his own disappointment
and frustration of breaking down he still
found the time and effort to help Jenny
Tinmouth get her machine out of the hedge
at Sulby (there is proof as it was caught
on camera) and gave her and the bike a
lift back to the paddock as she has no
van with her on the island. Well Done
Davy.
