After the disappointment of saturdays practice postponement due to the weather, the 2010 TT got underway for real with the first timed session and Davy was ready to go. With it being the first time on track at race speeds it was a case of getting in some solid laps, checking out the track and getting a feel of the bikes around the mountain Circuit especially with two new ones.

Davy brought the CSC Branson R1 Superstock Yamaha to the line to get his 2010 assault underway and despite a lot of traffic and checking out the bits of new tarmac he managed a lap in 19 min 25.90 sec @ a speed of 116.500mph, which is a really good starting point and the 22nd quickest time of the evening in the Superstock Class. After one lap Davy pulled in and after a quick change over it was out on the Strangford Holiday Park GSXR1000 Suzuki and with it being a totally new bike to Davy around the 37 3/4 mile circuit he was looking for another solid lap.

As he set off down Bray Hill he knew almost immediately he was going to the love the bike and 19 min 11.83 secs later he was back at the Grandstand with a lap @ 117.924mph and a big smile knowing that he can weather permitting go a lot faster. The time gave him 21st in the Superbike standings. Again he only did one lap as he wanted to get a lap on all three bikes to get a feel for them all.

His final lap of the session was on the CSC Branson R6 Supersport Yamaha and again it was a solid lap without pushing and putting the wee bike through too much abuse first time out. He managed a lap @ 115.600mph in 19 min 34.98 sec and was good enough for the 15th quickest time in the class, not a bad result for a run round.

Commenting after a satisfied Davy commented, "Its the first night of practice, i was not concerned about my times and others can do what they like, but for us it was a session just to get back in to the circuit and get a feel of where we are going with the bikes. The R1 Yamaha needs more work as it is still not handling great, the Suzuki is class and the R6 Yamaha feels good so we are looking forward with a lot of positives. We have a few minor things to try and adjust, but on the whole we are happy with how the session went. Hopefully it will be dry tomorrow and we will start to up the speeds and i will have a bit more to tell you all."
