After the cancellation of
practice on Thursday, everyone was just
looking out on track again for Fridays
Practice. Unfortunately rain and strong
winds battered the island overnight and
morning so come practice time even though
it had stopped raining, conditions were
far from perfect.
It was about getting the bikes qualified
tonight to make sure there was no pressure
going in to the final session on Saturday.
Davy needed to get a lap on each of the
Classic bikes to get them qualified, first
up was the CSC 350cc Honda and a lap at
86mph was achieved. Then a quick change
on to the CSC 500cc Honda and another
lap also at 86mph made it a cold and wet,
but satisfying nights work. |
Speaking
later Davy commented, “We are
wet and cold, but we got the job done
tonight, we needed a lap on each of the
classic bikes to get them qualified and
although they were not very quick we got
the laps in. The conditions were not good
out there, it was dry in places and really
wet in others with a lot of water running
across the track, on the mountain it was
very windy and you just had to be careful.
I would certainly not like to race in
those conditions come Monday. The forecast
is better for tomorrow so we will hopefully
get the opportunity to do laps on all
three bikes at a more competitive speed”.
