2009 MGP: One Untimed Lap in the Wet (26 Aug 09)

Rain and mist hit the Isle of Man for the first time at the 2009 Manx Grand Prix today. The start of practice was held back due to the conditions and especially mist on the mountain. When it eventually cleared about an hour late the organisers made the decision that everyone would only get one lap and that it would be untimed. They instructed all the riders that there was to be no overtaking except in exceptional circumstances.

Davy decided to take the CSC 500cc Honda out for its first run and he managed to complete the lap without any incident or breakdown.

Speaking later a relax Davy said, “Not much to report tonight we got the one lap and it was pretty uneventful and just a tour round. There were yellow flags right across the mountain and the clerk of course emphasised at the briefing that there was to be no passing. Lets hope for better weather tomorrow and I can get a few laps in and have more to tell you all”.
