It was a busy day for the
team at the Manx Grand Prix after Monday
night’s problems. The CSC 350 Honda
needed a new engine after the blow up
and the Strangford Holiday Park/BLRC 250
Honda had to be rebuilt after the seizure.
So it was an early start.
The 250cc Honda needed new rings, cylinder
and piston so it took most of the day
to get it sorted. Come practice it was
fingers crossed as Davy set off down Glencrutchery
Road. Everything went well as a lap was
completed, which means the wee bike is
now well run in so hopefully we can get
the times up over the next few days.
It was a quick change to the CSC 350cc
Honda in pit lane and off for was what
turned out to be another eventful lap.
The bike was going well when the gear
linkage broke, fortunately a kind soul
was able to give us bits to get it fixed
and Davy was able to get it back to the
paddock. It was however another important
full lap even though it was at an average
speed of about 60mph.

On Tuesday
night a more upbeat Davy commented “Its
been a long day, the 250 took all day
to rebuild, but it was worth it as at
last we got a full lap. The new engine
in the 350 felt good until the linkage
broke, but at least we got it fixed and
another lap completed all be it slowly.
I certainly feel a lot better tonight
and I want to thank the guy who gave us
the bits to get the classic going again.
So hopefully things will continue to improve
tomorrow”. |
