It
was the long trip South to the Faugheen
50 Road Races at the end of July for Davy
Morgan Racing with a hope and confidence
that the current run of form would continue
on the tight 2.2 mile circuit.
Practice went well and it was a front
row start on the Ballygowan RRSC 250 Honda,
and third row starts on both the CSC Branson
R6 and Investasure Honda Fireblade.
Race day brought good weather and the
organising club ran the meeting superbly
and we were starting to pack up by 3.30pm.
It was a good day on track as well, with
another podium on the Ballygowan 250,
although it was well behind the Dunlop
brothers in third. In the Supersport Races
there was a brace of ninth place finishes
after two terrific battles with Damien
Mulleady and Barry Davidson. The results
for the day were completed with another
brace, this time sevenths in the Open
Championship Race and Grand Final. Five
starts, five top ten finishes, another
good days work.
Speaking later Davy said, “It
was another satisfying weekend with another
full set of finishes and all in the top
ten. I could get no were near the pace
of the Dunlop boys on the 250, but it
was another podium for the season, I once
again rode the wheels of the CSC Branson
600, but is just not quick enough and
the big bike is a real handful round this
place. However I really enjoyed all the
races and was involved in some really
good dices. I just hope I can carry this
form into the Ulster as it has been an
unlucky race for me since I returned to
it a couple of years ago.”
