| After a steady
practice week with no major problems with
his machinery, Davy, still trying to get
over a head cold, wheeled the Investasure
Fireblade to the start line for Saturday's
Superbike TT. With damp conditions, and
everyone unsure of the correct tyre choice,
the riders prepared for the off and then
the announcement came of a 30 minute delay,
followed shortly by the shock news that
the entire days race had been postponed.
With bad weather predicted for Sunday
the first race of the Centenary TT would
now be held on Monday, meaning that we
would have three consecutive days racing
around the mountain circuit.
fter another day working on the bikes
and trying to relax if possible, the scene
was set under good conditions for the
Centenary TT Superbike race. Starting
at number 16 Davy had a few riders to
hunt down in front of him. A good couple
of first laps, saw Davy just lie just
outside the top 10 as he came in for the
first of his two pit stops.

A few problems were encountered
in the pit stops loosing valuable time.
As Davy headed out onto laps three and
four, the Investasure Honda Fireblade
started to misfire and cost Davy a lot
of time over the next few laps. Another
pit stop came and went and on the final
two laps, with the bike continuing to
misfire Davy continued on over the mountain
and completed the six lap race at an average
speed off 118.737mph, finishing 15th and
collecting a bronze replica.
Tuesday, and it was the Superstock Race,
which was put back 24 hours due to the
cancellation of the Superbike TT. On the
Blacks Bike Shop prepared Suzuki 1000
GSXR, Davy was looking forward to this
race and looking for a good result on
this one off ride. However, it was not
to be and it was a short lived race when
on the opening lap run to Ballcraine,
the brakes failed, leaving Davy heading
up the slip road and disappointed that
his race was over so soon after it had
began.
With the third race over the famous mountain
circuit in three days, it was the turn
of the Autotech 600 Honda to take to the
track, and with the machine down in top
speed this was going to be a difficult
race. Getting his head down from the flag
Davy rode as hard as he could, over the
four laps. At the end of lap four averaging
at 114.912mph Davy finished an extremely
disappointing 29th with a bronze replica.
With no racing on Thursday it was down
to stripping out the Investasure Honda
to see what the misfire problem was during
the Superbike TT, with wiring looms, plugs
and other bit and bobs changes, it was
all set for the blue ribbon Senior TT
on Friday.
So far, disappointed with his TT, Davy
was looking for a good result for Investasure
from the Isle of Man on their Honda Fireblade.
Once again under glorious conditions for
the final race of the Centenary TT the
racing got under way, but it wasn't long
before the gremlins returned in 1000 Honda,
with the misfire getting worse over the
first 37 3/4 miles and it was at the end
of that lap, that Davy's 2007 TT races
ended with his second frustrating retirement
of the week this time in the pits.
Overall it was a TT to forget for the
man from Saintfield, who said he just
wanted to finish as high as possible and
improve his overall lap times on all bikes,
but sadly this wasn't to be. Davy would
like to thank all his sponsors, helpers
and friends for the hard work and effort
during the two and half weeks on the island
and hopes that things will get better
as the season progresses.
