| Davy headed for
Killalane with a good result in the Street
Sweep/2 Stroke Racing Supporters Club
250cc Race the priority in an attempt
to hold on to the lead in this prestigious
championship with the final two rounds
at Scarborough next weekend.
Practice was a complete wash out with
all the laps being done behind traveling
marshals and there was the added disappointment
of not being allowed to ride the Investasure/John
Bell Yamaha in the 600cc Race, which in
the end was very poorly supported race
due to the current crazy rulings.

Race day and it was the
Touchwood Consulting ZX10 to the line
first, but it was only for two laps as
a back injury, which Davy has had for
a few weeks now affected him for the first
time on a bike and forced him to retire
as it was too painful on the big bike
and with the 250cc race to come no risks
being taken.
The Street Sweep 250cc Race saw Davy
on the Ballygowan Supporters Club Honda
have a terrific battle for third place
throughout the eight laps with Barry Davidson
and Richard Britton. He got the better
of Britton, but had to settle for fourth
place only a fraction of a second behind
Davidson, but more importantly ahead of
championship rival Darren Burns. That
was the end of the day racing for the
team, as the back injury was now proving
just too painful to move with, never mind
ride a superbike.

Davy as he
got some massage from partner Trudy commented,
“The big bike was just to painful
to hold on to, on the 250 I just had to
grimace and go for it, but we got a good
result and now going to Scarborough next
week the championship is in my own hands,
but I will definitely have to go this
week and get my back seen too as it is
now really painful.”
