Davy Morgan Racing 2010 Launched (29 Jan 10)

Another season has come and gone, with a few highs and lows. The 2009 season was a bit stop start with the weather playing havoc almost every weekend. I had an awful North West when I was taken out by another rider and suffered an elbow injury that also spoiled my TT. However despite these setbacks the team worked hard and I went on to enjoy a few podiums and numerous top tens during the rest of the season in both Ireland and the UK.

On top of the racing in 2009, my newly formed “Davy Morgan #71 Road Racing Supporters Club” and myself linked up with Action Cancer to raise funds and awareness of Breast Cancer. I wore the breast cancer pink ribbon logo on my bikes and helmet. Through the sale of a pink helmet pin badge based on my own helmet and the charity logo we managed to raise £7500 for Breast Cancer.

The 2010 season cannot come quickly enough and with a lot of our plans already in place we are looking forward with optimism. We have bought an ex-TAS Suzuki Superbike, a front running British Championship R6 Yamaha and we have our current Superstock R1 Yamaha and my own 250cc Honda. I will be working with the same team as last year with whom I have a close professional relationship. I am training hard and hope to be in the best physical shape of my life. This conditioning is a major requirement these days in this highly competitive sport….I certainly won’t come up short in that department!

In 2010 I am again riding with the CSC Branson Racing Team under the watchful eye of team principle Steve Caffyn who is providing the R1 Superstock Yamaha & an ex-Dan Linfoot R6 Yamaha and Trevor Mattewson of Strangford Holiday Park who came on board last year and is supporting the Superbike effort. I want to thank them for their continued support and on the excellent machinery they are providing me with, they can be assured that I will be doing my best to compete at the highest level possible.

The bikes for 2010 are not painted, but done in Vinyl by "Zero One RaceFX.com" who are ventring into bike racing for the first time and as you can see have done an excellent job. They will be around Ireland's paddock's during 2010 if anyone would like to talk about their product.

Davy Morgan - every right to smile

My sincere thanks goes to all my loyal sponsors, trade support and friends who are too many to name and of course any potential sponsors who are currently being invited or looking at becoming part of what I know could well be a very successful season for Davy Morgan Racing. It is my hope that they will come onboard and see first hand the continued commitment, not only of myself, but by my whole team.

For 2010 the “Davy Morgan #71 Road Racing Supporters Club”, made up and run by my friends and supporters with the sole purpose of providing me with much needed financial support to my racing costs, will continue and again we will be supporting Action Cancer in some form.

Finally to my loyal supporters, I can only assure you all that it is my determined intention to make 2010 a memorable season for Davy Morgan………….
